Organized

Worked on lots of little things this weekend.  Not the least of which was organizing the bike tools.  I've been using my bike tools and parts out of bins for so long, that I really couldn't wait to get the bike room more organized. Doesn't look like but, but to my anal-retentive side, this is just heaven.  Finally a place for all the tools, bikes, and parts.  I need to get a drawer system of some kind for under the bench to use for larger parts, so I'll be looking for something like that later.

Stump Finally Gone

Now that the weather is nicer, I finally went after the stump we cut off.  Ended up taking it apart the old way, with an axe, sledge, and wedge.

Accent Wall

Been meaning to add some color to the main living area for a while.

Office Done

Wrapped up the last of the changes to the office.  Much cleaner looking now.  Hard to get a good picture, but here's what I have: Pretty much all cheap Ikea stuff, but it works great for me.

Tree Be Gone

A tree in the front yard had been bugging me for a long time.  It's ugly, sheds it's branches in winter in addition to leaves, spits sap, and was obscuring the really pretty Chinese Maple.  I don't have a good shot of before I started work. Here is the work in progress  The main cleanup done.  Still need to remove a few of the big logs, and cut the rest of the stump down, but was starting to loose the light so I'll hit that tomorrow. Much better.  Removes a lot of the obstructed view of the house.  There is one other tree that will have to go, but it's much bigger and near the power lines, so I'll have to let the professionals do that one. The Chinese Maple is a little thin right now, it's only starting to bud, but it will fill in nicely in a few weeks.

Front Door

Took a couple of days to get it painted, but here is the new front door The trim is still roughed in, and I don't want to let the seals touch it for a few days just in case, so it will be a little drafty for a little while.  Much better.  Can't wait to replace the glass on either side with matching reed glass as well.
