Theater carpet

After pulling up the wood flooring in the theater to use in the sunken part of the living room, I'd never gotten around to putting that carpet in the theater.  So, decided to tackle that tonight.  First off, after pulling everything out of the theater, it really gives you a feel for how much crap I've accumulated. Here is the empty theater Carpet in place, ugly stains and all All done, with full lighting And theater lighting Haven't had time to reconnect all the electronics yet, will do that tomorrow.  And I'll definitely have to get some carpet cleaner, as the carpet isn't particularly "fresh" smelling.  But carpet in the basement is nicer than the hardwood.

New Bed

Been looking for a storage-style bed for a while.  Not quite willing to drop $2k for a proper scandinavian platform bed yet, but this one I found on CL for only $250.  Once I got it I realized I should do something to dress up the bedroom, so I got some more of the accent wall gray paint, and did one wall.  Haven't had time to cleanup much yet, but here's what it looks like. I also decided to get rid of the so-so wall light, and wired the dome light directly into it.  This is temporary, I have ideas for a light bar, but for now this works.

Flooring

The house originally had some cheap bamboo flooring in the kitchen area that I had removed and installed in the basement theater and hallway.  Instead, I decided to pull it up and install it as a temporary solution in the sunken area of the living room. In doing this I also removed the last part of the step leading into the sunken area.  I pretty much just slapped the planks in there to see how it would look, they aren't installed well, just enough to make better than a semi-painted concrete floor. I plan to take the carpet that was in there and put it in the home theater.  Never cared for the feel of wood in the basement, the carpet is nicer.  Having hardwood upstairs and carpet in the basement makes for a nice complement.
