Basement Bathroom Progress

Just for reference, here is the original, claustrophobic, non-code-compliant basement bathroom. And here is progress on the much larger bathroom, even though to overall footprint is the same size. The shower has been expanded to fill the entire width, and the ceiling raised in the shower area.  The original was a generic shower stall, and was very dark and cramped.  This will be much brighter and while the dimensions are small, won't feel nearly as cramped.

Basement Bathroom Started

Removed all of the remaining tile and finished a level coat. Got the floor studs mounted.

Sod

Finally getting sod installed in the back yard.

Finalizing Wall

Busy building the steps for the back yard wall And cleaning up the ground in preparation for sod.

Rock Wall

Pictures showing the gradual process creating the back yard rock wall.

Lotta Rock

Got all the landscaping rock moved to the back yard.  Gonna need a rest day after this.

Finished Paint

All exterior paint, siding, and trim is done.

Exterior Paint

Finally getting around to painting the North and South sides of the house.  The East and West are already painted.

Downpipes

House had ugly plastic downpipes for the roof drainage that's annoyed me for a while. Replaced with galvanized metal pipes.  Also starting to correct the trim color around the top of the downpipes.

Old Wood Removed

Finally removed the old, rotten railroad ties that I've been looking at for 10 years.  Now it's ready for me to start building a rock retaining wall. Night picture shows how dirty the windows are, but also shows how the big windows blend the indoors and outdoors.

Back Yard Work Started

Have all the rock for the retaining wall delivered. Getting the new edging installed.  It will be 2 rows of 4x4 treated timbers.  That will elevate the area next to the house, which will be filed with river rock, up lights, and some planters.

Office Done

Just need to paint and re-install the doors and add the thresholds when I to the rest of the flooring in the basement but the office is pretty much done.  Flooring is a hickory vinyl plank.  Was super easy to install.

Office Ceiling

Almost done, just need some paint on the trim and touch up paint and the office is done, other than flooring. Also got the rock delivered for the rear retaining wall

Catching Up

Been too busy to post, need to catch up.   Office drywall finished. Originally I started installing the removable ceiling But decided it wasn't worth the fuss and the result wouldn't look good enough, so I leveled the beams and installed drywall, which is ready for sanding now It will be painted dark to match the rest of the basement, and have trim moulding around the edge to hide the transition. Also chose to frame and drywall the last wall in the landing area
