Floors Done

Finally did all of the sanding and finishing of the floors.  This is a huge step as it allows me to finally finish everything else upstairs.

Here it is fully sanded and waiting for sealer

Applying the sealer.  I'm using Loba Invisible Protect 2k.  2 coats as recommended

2nd coat

You can really see a big difference between how the wood reacted after the first coat.  It looked as if a significant tint was going to be imparted to the wood.  But after it dried, that went away.  The 2nd coat shows less affect, showing that it's sitting on top of the first coat.

Final result

The Loba turned out great, only adding a very slight tint to the flooring.  I was surprised at how much the grain raised after the first coat.  But as the instructions required, I buffed with a 200 grit screen between coats.

Ugly Float and Tape

Getting started on the float and tape job on the upstairs half bath.  Pretty ugly so far. This is just the first coat, which is really intended to just get the tape down.  Looks ugly, but it's actually not bad.  Won't know for sure how it will look till the last coat.  Plan is to do a texture-free level 5 finish.  Not sure if I'll be able to pull it off or not, worst case if it doesn't pan out I can just throw some texture up.

Paint

Had to get a coat of paint on before the rains hit.  Not completely sold on the blue trim, may due a dark brown or grey there instead, but a huge improvement over what it was.  Right now I only have one coat on, and haven't done the edging right, so it's a rough paint job, but it will tide the house over until I get a patch of good weather and can finish the job.
Figuring out a plan for the sunken area, cleared it all out.  Will likely need to deal with the chimney first.
