Theater Lighting Done

Done, bigger job than I expected.  Mainly due to the amount of time required to mount everything, measure and mark, remove, cut, paint, test fit, refit, etc...

Turned out really well.  Up close you can see the flaws, but that's the reason the backing paint is a dark color, as you never see it unless you look closely.

I'm very happy that the design made a difficult, ugly spot to work with, turn into an asset.  Recessing the lighting behind the wood makes it difficult to repair, if a light goes out, so good thing it's LED.  In the main area, and the other rooms I'll probably use a router to recess track lighting into the wood, put the slats over that.  Should make it easier to make, and a little more flexible.  Also it will reduce the depth needed, as I have very little vertical space to work with in the main area.

Figuring out a plan for the sunken area, cleared it all out.  Will likely need to deal with the chimney first.

Ugly Float and Tape

Getting started on the float and tape job on the upstairs half bath.  Pretty ugly so far. This is just the first coat, which is really intended to just get the tape down.  Looks ugly, but it's actually not bad.  Won't know for sure how it will look till the last coat.  Plan is to do a texture-free level 5 finish.  Not sure if I'll be able to pull it off or not, worst case if it doesn't pan out I can just throw some texture up.

Bathroom Waterproofing

Waterproofing the shower.  1 primer coat, 5 coats on the walls, 7 on the pan.  Tested and approved by the inspector.  Next is upper pan and then tile.
